China sought to reassure the public about the coronavirus outbreak in Beijing, saying infections would soon reach a peak because they could have occurred as early as May.
Twenty-eight new cases were reported in China 三级成人视频on Thursday, the majority of which were found in the capital. A total of 158 infections have now been confirmed in Beijing over the last week.
Authorities immediately declared a "wartime" mode to avoid a "second Wuhan", kicking into gear with aggressive contact tracing, mass testing and quarantines.
With containment measures in place, health officials estimated that Beijing would soon reach its peak, with infections subsiding in about a month.
"A lot of asymptomatic or mild cases were detected in this outbreak, and that is why the environment has such amount of virus," said Gao Fu, the director of China's centre for disease control and prevention, according to state media.
But the number of cases is expected to begin declining. On Thursday, authorities reported 21 cases in Beijing, down from a daily average of 33 over the last four days.

"Newly transmitted cases will be sporadic."
Government officials are again on high alert only a little over a week after coronavirus measures were finally eased. Beijing was the last city in China to ease restrictions, as authorities sought to prevent an outbreak in the seat of government.

Restaurants and bars, many of which are now shuttered, have been required to send employees for coronavirus tests.
Beijing's outbreak has been traced to a major wholesale food market in the southern part of the city and compared to the initial epidemic in the central city of Wuhan, which was clustered around a seafood market.
