Italian authorities have fined a group of Italians who set off powerful fireworks from a rooftop barbecue when a police helicopter buzzed overhead to check if they were breaking lockdown restrictions.

三级成人视频The revelers were branded “idiots” after detonating the fireworks in an act of defiance when their Easter celebrations, on top of a block of flats in Palermo in Sicily, were rumbled by the helicopter.

三级成人视频As they set off the bangers and rockets, several gleefully took photos and videos of themselves and posted them on social media, enabling police to identify the ringleaders.

They were accused of contravening Italy’s nationwide coronavirus lockdown, with the first fines issued on Tuesday.

Some of the parents in the group are also likely to be fined for negligence, given that there were minors at the party and the roof did not have any protective parapets.

The confrontation with the police helicopter happened on Easter Sunday in Sperone, a district on the outskirts of Palermo that is known for poverty and high unemployment. The party was eventually broken up by a police patrol.

三级成人视频“Times like this make me ashamed to be Sicilian,” one local man wrote on Twitter.

三级成人视频The party-goers were condemned by Leoluca Orlando, the mayor of Palermo, who said they would “get the sanctions and punishment that they deserve.”

三级成人视频He said that thanks to the participants “stupidly” posting video footage on social media, they had been easy to identify.

三级成人视频Vincenzo Figuccia, a regional politician, called them “idiots” and said that most people in Palermo wanted to disassociate themselves from such behaviour.

He said the majority of people were making “great sacrifices” and respecting the lockdown laws, which stipulate that people are only allowed out of their houses for urgent necessities such as work, buying food or collecting medicines.

Easter celebrations were permitted but only in small family groups of immediate relatives.
